Black Fly Environmental was pleased to deliver a presentation entitled “Navigating Wetland Policy in Alberta” at the 2019 Alberta Sand & Gravel Association AGM on January 10.

The Directive for Permittee-Responsible Wetland Construction was released in December 2018 and although it ultimately didn’t mean much to the Sand and Gravel industry, we spoke to what we know for certain. The Alberta Wetland Policy is the cause on confusion for many, so we decided to present an overview of the policy and its many directives in the simplest way possible. There is a lot yet to come in terms of wetland replacement, and we are excited for the opportunities and collaborative efforts that will come along with it.

Speaking in front a group this size was a first for Black Fly; we received nothing but positive feedback and are extremely thankful to the ASGA for this opportunity. This was a first but certainly won’t be the last! Stay Tuned!
