INDIGENOUS SERVICES

Our team of aquatic biologists and fisheries specialists design custom environmental studies for indigenous communities focused on fish population changes, water quality, identifying potential contamination sources and investigating changes over time.

We prepare baseline studies to establish current lake conditions, identify areas of concern, and investigate causes of environmental degradation.

Black Fly is proud to support Indigenous and Metis communities in conducting customized environmental studies focused on traditional plants. We work intimately with the community, facilitating the communication of traditional land-use values by respectfully braiding Indigenous and Western science.

We develop and deliver customized environmental monitoring programs in the community. Designed to build capacity in the use of environmental monitoring tools and techniques, these programs provide inclusive and hands-on training to support communities in conducting self-sustaining environmental monitoring.
