It’s always important to have the right tool for the job. Sometimes when the job is moving fish from upstream to downstream around a construction area, it can get tricky.

Black Fly is the proud owner of a shiny new LR-24 Smith Root electrofisher. In case you don’t know, an electrofisher is a ghostbuster-esque backpack which gives a (gentle) shock to the water to temporarily paralyze the fish so they can easily be caught and relocated. While the fish are in the bucket, we identify and measure them and the information is submitted to the government for their wildlife management database.
