“FISHING” FOR SURVEYS!

A new “Angle” of work

This summer, BFE performed their first job with Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) and first human dimension work!

A total of 8 lakes have been identified within the Northwest and Northeast portions of Alberta to assess the effects of harvest slot regulations using angler surveys. During each survey, anglers were asked a series of questions including hours spent fishing, angling methods used, whether they are aiming for the targeted species, and the number of each fish species harvested and released.

Black Fly happily welcomed many new employees to join the adventure and certainly learned a lot along the way. From hot summer afternoons to cold and rainy evenings, our team members were there (and here, and there…) to ensure that the future of fishers and the fish would be in safe hands.

We are always interested in new environmental adventures, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and stay tuned!
